Carolien advises and supports organizations on complex pension and employee benefits matters. She assists clients with transformation projects, mergers and acquisitions, and pension administration and governance-related challenges. She is particularly energized by issues for which no established approach or solution yet exists.

Carolien holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Master's degree in Economics and Finance of Aging from Tilburg University. She also completed the Pension Law programme at VU Amsterdam. Before joining KWPS in 2026, she spent fourteen years in a variety of roles, including as an actuarial consultant at a Big Four firm and as a Compensation & Benefits specialist within the aviation industry. In her most recent role, she led the transition of several pension schemes to the Dutch Future of Pensions Act, working closely with trade unions and pension funds. She also contributed to various collective labour agreement negotiations.

In her spare time, Carolien enjoys rowing, reading and practising Pilates.
